86
Hop along across the railroad tracks,
Past the wickiup to a rundown shack.
Playing cops and robbers until the sun sets
Then we'd race on home to mama's fish and grits.
Think back now with no regrets,
those were the days I remember best.
We were young and free and never knew wrong.
We'd play over and over til the day light dawned.
Small town kids just having a ball.
We weren't rich but we had it all.
Standing tall we k new nothing but the sticks.
That was Toddville back in 86.
Riding high through those old dirt roads.
We were so far out, that no one knows.
And the sun would fall and the moon would rise.
Then we'd sneak on out with our alibis.
Never knew beyond the property line,
Yeah, we were the stars that shined so bright.
We were young and free and never knew wrong.
We'd play over and over until the day light dawned.
Friday night at the loggerhead, we'd have one little
Girl and we thought we were set.
Standing tall we knew nothing but the sticks.
That was Toddville back in 86.
Looking back to all the years gone by.
Man it's crazy how the time sure flies.
But I'll keep the memories close to me.
And you know they will always be.
And when I look back I will smile.
I will smile.
